Graduation Ceremony of 75 Youth at Risk under YES Project in Hudur.

WARDO – Hudur. WADAJIR Rural Development Organization WARDO in collaboration UNDP has completed a Youth Employment Somalia YES Project in Hudur Bakool, the project has been targeting youth aging 18 – 28 to engage them, In the commencement of the tailor-made vocational skill WARDO project team gave an awareness session to all trainees after they graduated from the social rehabilitation program, WARDO informed to the trainees to select the skill they prefer and told them that all skill have an equal opportunity in the market and the same demand, the five skills were Electrical installation, Automotive Mechanics, Mobile Phone and Tv repairing, Beauty Saloon and Business Entrepreneurship.

WARDO procured to the trainees all necessary and work-related personal equipment for the continuation of the project to keep the quality of the project and. trainees used Personal Protective Equipment PPE such as Gloves, Shirts (uniforms), Protective eyeglasses, and Helmets, this is because of the safety of the trainees during the sessions of the training classes as well as the apprenticeship and placement activities. As approved by the UNDP, WARDO trainers gave trainees the UNDP approved Somali syllabus emphasized the practical component of the syllabus without ignoring the theoretical part of the syllabus.

An apprenticeship and placement program was the complementary component of the project; the activity was aimed at providing an opportunity for the trainees to put their attained knowledge and skills into practice thus providing them with the necessary experience for the job market. after the graduation, the top 25 and highest-scoring trainees were given a revolving seed funds reward to establish SMEs, ad the remaining graduates were distributed start-up tool kits.
